Mr. Grahl has been with Resmark since 1999, and possesses 30 years of experience investing and managing institutional capital for residential and multifamily development. While at Resmark, he has originated, managed, and directed over $2.1 billion in debt and equity residential financing nationwide. Under his direction, the Company continues to consistently deliver good risk adjusted returns for its institutional investors.
Before joining Resmark, he served as lead consultant to Bankers Trust for its CalPERS-related residential investment program and spent over five years with Prudential Home Building Investors, where he was responsible for all investment originations and operations nationwide. Mr. Grahl began his career originating and underwriting residential investments at Home Capital Corporation, a real estate subsidiary of HomeFed Bank. He received a bachelor’s degree in Finance/Economics from San Diego State University and holds a Masters of Business Administration from National University.
Ms. Emmitt-Stern has been with Resmark since 2003 and possesses 30 years of residential real estate investment experience with major financial institutions. At Resmark, she focuses on originating and underwriting residential investments in California. Formerly, she was the Managing Director of the Deutsche Bank Real Estate Group in Los Angeles, where for five years she was responsible for overseeing the origination and management of the homebuilding investment program with CalPERS.
Prior to that, Emmitt-Stern served as Vice President with Prudential Home Building Investors, supervising the origination and management of residential investments in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. Earlier in her career, she managed residential investments throughout California and Nevada for Home Capital Corporation, a real estate subsidiary of HomeFed Bank. Ms. Emmitt-Stern received a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and a Master of Education with an emphasis in Business from Bowling Green State University.
Ms. Wilson has been with Resmark since 2005, and performs all the investment underwriting functions for the company. With 39 years of experience in the real estate industry, her expertise spans the acquisition, entitlement, development, financing, leasing, management, and disposition of projects in the residential, multifamily, retail, office, industrial, land, and hospitality markets.
Before joining Resmark, she was Senior Vice President of Development for Price Legacy Corporation, a publicly traded REIT. Prior to Price Legacy, she spent 15 years as a private developer and asset manager in the San Diego, California area.
Ms. Wilson holds a California real estate broker license; and received a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Finance from San Diego State University.
Ms. Johns joined Resmark in 2013 and possesses over 25 years of experience in the valuation and financing of residential and commercial real estate. At Resmark, she focuses on originating and underwriting residential investments in the Mid-Atlantic region. Formerly, she was Wells Fargo’s Senior Relationship Manager for the homebuilder sector in the Washington DC/Baltimore region.
Prior to that, Ms. Johns served as Group Vice President at Chevy Chase Bank, where she was responsible for its homebuilding unit. Earlier in her career, Ms. Johns provided mezzanine capital to various commercial real estate projects throughout the United States, managed a cooperative housing financing unit, and at Arthur Andersen, provided real estate valuation and consulting services to institutional clients. Also, Ms. Johns provided valuation services for Riggs Bank’s portfolios in the Washington, DC and London, England regions.
Ms. Johns chairs the Northern Virginia BIA Real Estate Finance Committee and is on its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. The committee is responsible for the annual Real Estate Outlook Conference, the smaller CFO Roundtables, and other curated conversations regarding debt and equity capital. Ms. Johns received a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Business from the University of Maryland.
Mr. Zarola joined Resmark in 2012. He is responsible for investment origination in the Pacific Northwest, Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado. Over his real estate career, he has held leadership positions in asset management, origination, disposition and finance for residential land and housing advisory firms.
Previously, Mr. Zarola served as Vice President/Investment Manager at TriPacific Capital Advisors, originating and managing investments in Florida, Texas and Nevada. Prior thereto, he originated and managed assets for Lowe Enterprises Residential Advisors in California, Florida, Nevada and Colorado. Mr. Zarola earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Diego State University.
Ms. Robinson joined Resmark in 2000 and possesses more than 20 years of experience managing residential investments. She is responsible for the oversight and investment management of the Resmark Land and Housing portfolio of projects throughout California. Prior to joining Resmark, she served as Vice President of Institutional Housing Partners and Prudential Home Building Investors. In these positions she worked on originating, underwriting and managing residential real estate investments in the Western United States.
Prior to that, Ms. Robinson was Project Manager for the Lomas Santa Fe Group, where she was responsible for all facets of planning, developing and construction of mixed-used developments. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Diego State University.
Mr. Rush has been with Resmark since 2001 and is primarily responsible for originating residential investments throughout the state of California. His duties include sourcing and screening new investment opportunities, negotiating joint venture structures, and overseeing the closing of new investments through Resmark’s originations and underwriting departments.
Prior to joining Resmark, Mr. Rush served as market analyst at The Meyers Group, one of the leading residential housing consultants in the U.S. He was responsible for analyzing the viability of new home projects within various markets and contributing to producing market studies for Meyers’ clients. He currently is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Building Industry Association. Mr. Rush earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, San Diego
